The Zapotec have been hand weaving rugs in the Central Valley of Oaxaca since 500 B.C.. Hand weaving rugs is a skill that has been handed down generation to generation for hundreds of years and continues to this day. The rugs you find for sale on this website are made by the Perez family in the village of Teotitlan del Valle.
